The LA Galaxy are a Major League Soccer club in the Western Conference, based in the Los Angeles area and owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group. Founded in 1994, they began play in 1996 as one of the league’s ten charter members and are the most successful team in MLS history.
The club has had only two logos. The current crest arrived in 2007 with David Beckham, as part of a rebrand led by then general manager Alexi Lalas, and it switched the club to navy blue, gold and white.
Logo history
- 1996: The original logo is gold, teal and black, with the Galaxy wordmark over a golden swirl.
- 2007: A blue shield with a gold border replaces it, carrying the team name and a quasar at the top. The quasar comes from the 1957 Seal of Los Angeles County.
This timeline lists only changes that a cited source confirms. Earlier or minor variants of the LA Galaxy mark that could not be dated from a primary or reputable source are left out rather than guessed.
