Ferguson Enterprises Inc. is the largest distributor in the United States of plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), appliances, lighting, pipes, valves and fittings, and water and wastewater products. It is headquartered in Newport News, Virginia, and about 95% of its revenue comes from the United States, with the rest from Canada.
The company was established in 1953 by Charles Ferguson, Ralph Lenz and Johnny Smither. In 1982 it was acquired by the UK based business Wolseley plc for $30.7 million, and in 1999 Ferguson merged with Familian Corporation of Los Angeles. Wolseley plc changed its name to Ferguson plc in 2017 to reflect the importance of its United States business, and in January 2021 it sold Wolseley UK. In August 2024 the company reorganized its structure so that the parent company is domiciled in the United States. Ferguson trades on the New York Stock Exchange as FERG. The logo is the FERGUSON wordmark in bold navy capital letters with a navy symbol at the left.
