Reddit is an American social news site and forum where users post links, text, images and video into communities called subreddits, then vote content up or down. The company’s mascot, Snoo, is the alien that anchors the logo.
According to Reddit’s own brand page, the logo consists of a stylized Snoo head inside an OrangeRed conversation bubble, typically paired with the reddit wordmark. In November 2023 Fast Company reported a comprehensive rebrand with a new logo, typeface, brand colors and an updated Snoo, timed before the company’s 2024 public listing.
Logo history
- June 2005: Reddit launches; in 2011 Alexis Ohanian shared early logo versions, including the spelling Reditt.
- 2017: Reddit launches its first mobile app, redesigns desktop and begins to define its brand, per its 2023 announcement.
- November 29, 2023: A rebrand by Pentagram New York, led by partner Natasha Jen, introduces a 3D Snoo with opposable thumbs and a new wordmark.
This timeline lists only changes that a cited source confirms. Earlier or minor variants of the Reddit mark that could not be dated from a primary or reputable source are left out rather than guessed.

The 2023 wordmark is set in Reddit Display, a custom face whose counters are shaped like conversation bubbles. Reddit Sans, an open source family, is used for everyday text.
Design context and usage rules
Reddit’s announcement says OrangeRed stays the signature color, joined by GuavaPink, LimeGreen, BananaYellow and JuniperBlue. Design Week reported that Pentagram cut a palette of more than 100 shades down to 15. TechCrunch tied the timing to IPO speculation; the company listed in 2024.
