Slack is a cloud based team communication platform developed by Slack Technologies, which has been owned by Salesforce since 2021. It is offered mainly as a business to business service, with features built around team communication and business administration.
Slack began as an internal chat tool at Stewart Butterfield's company Tiny Speck during work on the online game Glitch, and it launched to the public in August 2013. Salesforce agreed to buy the company in December 2020 and completed the deal on July 21, 2021. The current logo, introduced on January 16, 2019, pairs a four color hash symbol with a black lowercase slack wordmark.

- 2019: on January 16, Slack introduces a new logo created by its in house design and brand team with Michael Bierut and Pentagram. It replaces the first logo, an 11 color hash mark, with a simpler palette.
