Mettler Toledo, legally Mettler-Toledo International Inc. and stylized in all caps, is a multinational supplier of precision instruments and services headquartered in Greifensee, Switzerland. Its products are used in research, quality control and manufacturing in life sciences, food, chemicals and many other industries, with a focus on laboratory, industrial, product inspection and food retailing applications.

The company brings together two older businesses. The Toledo Computing Scale and Cash Register Company was incorporated in Toledo, Ohio, on July 10, 1901, by Henry Theobald and became the Toledo Scale Company in 1912. In 1945 the Swiss engineer Erhard Mettler started a precision mechanics company in Küsnacht, Switzerland, which developed a single pan analytical balance. Mettler sold his business to Ciba-Geigy in 1980, and in 1989 Reliance Electric sold its Toledo Scale division to Ciba-Geigy, which merged it with Mettler Instruments. The company was incorporated as Mettler Toledo, Inc. in 1992. Ciba-Geigy later sold it to AEA Investors in preparation for an initial public offering, and it now trades on the New York Stock Exchange as MTD. The logo shows the words METTLER TOLEDO in bold blue capital letters set within a field of thin green diagonal lines that form a cross shaped pattern.
