Conrad Hilton founded the company in May 1919, when he bought the 40 room Mobley Hotel in Cisco, Texas. The Dallas Hilton, opened in 1925, was the first hotel to carry the Hilton name, and the company was incorporated in 1946 as the Hilton Hotels Corporation. Blackstone bought Hilton in 2007, and Hilton returned to being a public company on December 12, 2013. The logo is the Hilton wordmark in black serif letters inside a black rectangular frame.
