DoorDash, Inc. is an American company that operates online food ordering and food delivery. It is headquartered in San Francisco, California, and it is the largest food delivery platform in the United States.
Stanford University students Tony Xu, Stanley Tang, Andy Fang and Evan Moore launched PaloAltoDelivery.com in Palo Alto, California, in January 2013, received seed money from Y Combinator that summer and incorporated the business as DoorDash in June 2013. DoorDash became a public company through an initial public offering in December 2020, and in September 2023 it moved its stock listing from the New York Stock Exchange to the Nasdaq, where it trades as DASH. Through its subsidiaries Wolt and Deliveroo it also operates across Europe and in several other countries. The logo pairs a red dash shaped emblem with the DOORDASH wordmark in red capital letters.
